Do you know the water absorption of epoxy resin adhesive?
The water absorption of epoxy resin adhesive refers to its ability to absorb water under certain conditions.
The water absorption rate of epoxy resin adhesive is usually about 0.1% -0.2%, but this is only a general range.
In general, the water absorption of unmodified epoxy resins is relatively low. This is because the molecular structure of epoxy resin is relatively tight, and the molecular chain contains more polar groups such as hydroxyl and ether bonds, which make it have a certain hydrophobicity.

The specific water absorption rate will vary depending on the type of epoxy resin (such as bisphenol A type, phenolic type, etc.), the type and amount of curing agent, whether there are fillers added, and environmental conditions. For example, in a high temperature and high humidity environment, its water absorption may increase.
However, many factors can affect its water absorption. For example, the higher the ambient humidity and the longer the contact time with water, the higher the water absorption rate. Moreover, different formulations of epoxy resin adhesives, such as adding fillers and different types of curing agents, will also change the water absorption rate. Excessive water absorption may have adverse effects on its mechanical properties, electrical properties and dimensional stability.
